Setting up Google Ads Conversion snippet

  • Hi All, although I have been using WP for a while in the past, I have been off it for about a year.

    I am trying to find the Plugin option on the backend of the page for one of my clients, but the backend interface seems completely different and I can’t seem to find any of the options that I am used to. No Plugin options, no ability to install extensions as the installation fails etc.

    The main issue I want to solve, is set up a Google Ads conversion tracking snippet, but I can’t even find where to put it. Is it possible that the interface has changed completely from what I remember, or could it be that I am missing some permissions?

  • Go to https://www.their-domain.tld/wp-admin/plugins.php if you cant get there then there is something not right
    Possibilities include
    1) you dont have admin rights
    2) you are on a multi-site
    3)it is an extremely custom / locked down implemntation
    4) the website isn’t actually WordPress based

    Thanks Alan for your help. I have tried this and in fact I cannot get there. I will make sure I check my permissions on Monday at the earliest. Thank you
