• I am still in the process of setting up my WP blog and in the process of doing so was looking for a simple CSS style generator specific for WP. I was unable to locate one, thus I have created a very simple one to create custom styles. I will be upgrading it as time goes by but if anyone would care to stop by, give it a go and let me know what you think I would appreciate it. Here is a link to what I currently have for my WP:

    Thank you for your time.

  • Very impressive, Kelieth. That will be a great help for people who aren’t yet familiar with the CSS that can be used for their own sites.
Great stuff! I’m sure that if you visited https://wiki.www.remarpro.com you would find a good spot to post a link and a bit of a blurb about your generator.
Thanks for your contribution to the community!
    Craig.

Looks great – any chance you’ll be adding a 3 column layout any time?
(currently I am pulling my hair out trying to get 3 columns to behave…SIGH).
    Anyway – nice work!

I do plan on adding 3 column layout in the near future.

Wow. This is going to be the answer to a lot of folks prayers. It is brilliant already but if you ask a lot of folks would be willing to share ideas about how it might develop. It is going to be fabulous. Thankyou.

Nuclear Mouse – Thanks for the link to wiki I am reviewing and will be using that to cleanup what I currently have.
Root – Thanks for the feedback and if anyone has a stylesheet layout that uses the default WP index.php I can easily add it as an option. I am more efficent with PHP than stylesheets but am getting better. ??

Well as it develops a bit I can see options based on acessibility eg the CSS1 template, the CSS2 template, the notional CSS 1.5 template, with fixed footers, different col colors, with/without borders or requiring bg gifs etc. This is fantastic. And just what people need. You may get a lot of support. Please keep posting. Remind us and hound us if you need help. If as you say you do php , but not css do not be afraid to ask. Another thought: With or without editing of index.php (also generated by your widget? ). Thanks. And the very best of luck.

Currently the code will generate Style sheets compatible with the original index.php page elements. In the future I may expand this to allow for custom CSS creation allowing users to define the elements in the page they need the stylesheet for and allow them to define where and how each element looks. Do to almost limitless options people may throw at this generator it may take a bit of time to expand it to that point. I’m intentionally leaving the code open for improvements in the future to include custom wp index.php pages and for that matter any HTML / XHTML page that people would like to create a stylesheet for. My current focus is to be able generate some dynamic styles from the base wp index.php template. I have already started a .02 version of the generator with some new tricks I’ve learned regarding CSS. This new version will be live in a short amount of time. I hope to have it in place before I leave for a needed 2 week vaction the first two weeks of June. I won’t hesitate to post a request for assistance on Style sheets as soon as I get as many bugs out of the generator as possible. Thank you

There are some people who think that the index.php is fine if you are using it with the supplied CSS layout, but for any kind of serious layout reconstruction it needs a little editing.
