I save the largest image size I am likely to use in Photoshop as WEBP with a quality of 85 but the WordPress generated resized images look terrible. I see there’s a filter to set jpeg quality, but not webp. How can I control the quality level for WordPress generated webp images?

    Hello @jamieburchell,

Currently, there is no support for controlling the quality for webP images. However, this issue has been raised on this trac ticket to select the best quality for webP images from WordPress.

    Best,

WordPress can’t control the quality of webp image.

You can use squoosh.app to optimize images and set the quality of the image before resizing it to a smaller size.
