I have installed a plugin named, “Configure SMTP.” The purpose of this is to set up a site to talk to the SMTP server so emails can be sent out (like when you create a user and the system sends them a notice that they have a login). Unfortunately, the plugin does not allow for setting the SMTP settings once for all. I DO NOT want to have to set the SMTP settings 50 times, once for each site in my network. Does anyone know of a way to set up SMTP ONCE FOR ALL?

I tried a plugin named, “YD Network-wide options,” which was purported to give network-wide plugin setting capabilities. NO GO!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Greetings, Chaplain Doug

I can’t personally vouch for it because I’m not running a Multisite presently, but have you seen this wp-multisite-smtp plugin over at GitHub?

    SOLUTION.

I was able to make the plugin, “Configure SMTP” work network wide. I went to the file configure-smtp.php in the plugin’s folder and entered the information for my Exchange Server (username, password, smtp port, etc.) in the section found under:

    * Initializes the plugin’s configuration and localizable text variables.

That made my specific settings for default for each network site. it works!
