Setting Request, do not auto display bottom thumbnails in popup gallery

Would you be able to add a setting to toggle on/off the automatic displaying of the bottom bar of thumbnails when viewing an image in the popup gallery?

Since it covers the bottom of the photograph and the user is already coming from seeing a page of “thumbnails”, I would rather the user be given the option to explicitly view it when desired instead of having to hide it every time you want to view a full sized unobstructed image. I like the feature, but I would prefer it not being automatically shown.
