Setting No Index for PDFs

    Does the SEO settings box on the media page update headers or does it just apply to the media page WordPress creates. I have a number of PDFs uploaded which I’m happy for Google to index – but there’s a couple which I don’t want to be indexed.

    Hello!

    It just applies to the media page WordPress creates. You can override the global robots setting on a per-(media-)page’s basis via those settings.

    Google is perfectly capable of indexing PDF files–so if you link directly to those instead of the media-pages holding them, then they’ll get indexed regardless. TSF doesn’t (and can’t) intervene with files directly.
