Setting Initial Option Values

I have created my first plugin and very excited to release it this weekend. The final thing I want to do is to add defaut values to the Options I have created.

So if I understand correctly when the plugin does the get_option for the first time and they do not exist it creates them. That is what is happening for me anyway.

If they are empty, as they would be for the first time, I want to set a default value in each. Can someone point me to a good resource? I tried lookign up to see if set_option was possible do I don’t think so.
