  • 1 – Is it okay to use [email protected] as the “from” address or is it even better to use [email protected] ?

[email protected] is the simplest approach & used by most people.

[email protected] is an alternative approach that also works if people don’t use [email protected]. It works because WordPress sends emails to this address when none is provided.

You don’t need to use both approaches.

2 – Is it okay to set up [email protected] as an alias? or is it better to set it up as a main email address?

Alias should be fine, though some hosts may have very specific requirements for From: email addresses.

Do I need to actually set up an email account for the ‘from’ address at my domain, or can you simple fill in anything, as you’re discussing (wordpress or contact or whatever.mydomain.com) ?
