I want to allow users to be able to upload a variety of files types including Word and .pdf. Where do I set the allowable file types?

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

  • What versin of WP do you have? I don’t think in WP v2 you can do this in the Options -> Misc settings like you used to be able to.

I am able to go to my wordpress database -> wp_options -> fileupload_allowedtypes

How you access your database is a completely different question, and will depend on how you have it installed, etc.

Thank you for you response. I am running wp 2.0.2. I don’t have wp_options -> fileupload_allowedtypes in my database. Do you know if the Plug-in “iframes” does the same thing?

The last install I did of WP2.0.2 I’ve just noticed doesn’t have fileupload_allowedtypes in the database.

I started using WP back at version 1.2 or so, so that’d be where my fileupload_allowedtypes field comes from I guess. Sorry I am of no use here in this case! :S

I tried looking for the plugin iframes but couldn’t find it so I can’t help there either. <iframe> is a html command for inserting another page into an existing page though, so I can’t see why a plugin called iframes would help with allowing you to upload different file types.
