I know others have experienced this. Had to rebuild the site, and reinstalled jetpack. It initially worked, then stopped working. I deleted and reinstalled and now get this error message every time I click “set up jetpack.” “An error occurred. Please try again.”
Bluehost support is useless, and the xmlrpc.php file seems to be intact. Any suggestions on how to get Jetpack running again?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @rpsellers,

The xmlrpc.php file is redirecting to a 404 Page not found error page for me. Please check again:

    1. Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP? If you don’t, then try re-installing WordPress. You can do this by going to the Dashboard -> Upgrades page, then clicking the “Reinstall” button.
    2. Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the xmlrpc.php file and redirecting with a 404 response.

Actually, my issue isn’t resolved, but this thread got marked as such while I was out of town.
