After today’s update, my analytics dashboard suddenly showed a flatline of no visitors at all. Something to do with the transition from UA tot GA4…

I followed the instructions under “Cannot find your Google Universal Analytics property?”
which worked fine untill point 5: On the Set up a Google tag page…

I’ve been searching all over the place but I can’t find the Set up a Google tag page.

Suggestions about where to find it are much appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @frans-blok,

After step 4 (In the Property column, click GA4 Setup Assistant, then click Get Started under I want to create a new Google Analytics 4 property, then click on Create and Continue.), your migration is completed, and it is safe to skip step 5, as Google seems to skip it for some accounts.

Here is the official documentation for reference :

I have checked your website, and it seems that the plugin installed the required tracking code correctly, and soon, you should start receiving data in the graph.

Please be advised, it might take up to 24 hours, for newly created accounts to collect data from Google servers.

Also, Your old data (from universal analytics), will not be transferred to your new GA4 account, and Google offered no way for this migration to happen.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t see any visitors coming yet, but I guess I’ll have to be patient till those 24 hours have passed.
And too bad that the old data will not be transferred but I understand Google is to blame for that.

Well, over 24 hours have passed… The dashboard shows 11 active users for yesterday, which is improbably low and none whatsoever for today.

I tried all kinds of things in Google Analyics, but I get lost in a maze of properties and data streams. I know it’s not the fault of this plugin but I cannot understand how Google can make such a terribly user-unfriendly product. If their search engine was like this, nobody would use it.

    Hello @frans-blok,

The widget will show the numbers given by Google Servers.

Just to be sure, login to your Google Analytics account and compare the numbers for the same reporting period.

From my understanding, the new GA4 using different methods to determine active users/sessions.
