    Hi there. thanks for any help. I am very new to this and I have tried a few things but I am not making any head way. I just added your app to this site and to all 20 sites we run. I was wondering of anyone could help make sure I am setting this up correct because something is dreadfully wrong. When I use the words Explore and new and jersey in a search, nothing shows up. Not even on any page. I scroll forever and never see it. Does anyone know what i must do to make this work? Honestly, if it worked one time in any effective way, I would pay for the pro service not only here but I would use anything that works effective on every site I manage. I need an SEO partner basically. Thanks and pardon the ignorance. I have no clue how this all works. Oh, I did get every page to be all green on every site so I think it should be good i that regard. But for me to not even see the site using the very name is the most alarming and unreal thing. Thanks again for any help or guidance. I’ll do anything to see any progress. I also do NOT want to wait weeks for this not to work. Then, I have to try another app. It takes so long to find out its great for us. Thanks

    Hello!

    Thank you for reaching out. I spent some time going through your site. And while there’s nothing wrong with it regarding technology (aside from using an unsupported sitemap plugin and Jetpack, but your issue isn’t related to the sitemap or slow plugins), there’s a problem with UX.

    When I search for “site:https://visit.explorenewjersey.org/,” I get shown 440 results. This means Google crawled your website, found the pages, and added them to the search results.

    Unfortunately, the problem is that there’s no content on your website. So none of those results will rank.

    For example, when I visit a recent post about “bricco coal fired pizza,” I get shown a video without any context but a title. But this video is posted on YouTube. So, why would I visit your site instead of the much more well-known YouTube? To fix this, you’d need to post an explanation, transcript, etc., on your site about the video. However, this would take enormous effort.

    Another example: when I visit the Holiday Events page, I see an interactable interface that doesn’t explain how it should be used — there’s no context as to what I’m searching for, either. For example, is it in New Jersey? Of course, it is! But we cannot imply that from the site’s name; it must be extrapolated from the content.

    As a last example, when I visit the Special Olympics page under Sports, I see a small intro. Then I need to scroll two full screens before I see content — this is what we call “below the fold,” which is bad for SEO for it reduces the importance of the content.

    All these examples display “low quality” indicators in one form or another. This detracts from the entire site, even from “good quality” pages like the shop’s product listings.

    It’s important to note that SEO is a long-term process, and it can take time to see results after you make changes. There are many professionals and agencies that specialize in SEO who can provide more in-depth analysis and recommendations for optimizing your site for search. Since we only provide the software, we do not provide such services.
