Set to default archive page?

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, thank you!!! WordPress creates a default archive page for each category. Is there a way for me to set the default template to be the default archive page that wordpress uses? This would save so much time in creating new pages, as these archive pages are created automatically by WordPress! Thank you again!
