Hello, is it possible to force the user’s email as their username but also allow them to set their own password at job submission? When I check the option to generate the username from an email address, the set password field is also checked, but greyed out – so i can’t uncheck it forcing users with the need to reset their password in order to actually set it. (https://github.com/Automattic/WP-Job-Manager/issues/637)

Emails are much easier to remember as usernames so I want to keep that function in place, but I also want to allow users to set their password upon submission of a job. I’ve also read that this isn’t possible using your resumes add-on(https://github.com/Automattic/WP-Job-Manager/pull/1063)

Is this something that will be fixed for better user experience in the near future? Also, sending users to the backend form to set their password is a bit disjointed.

It’s not possible currently to do what you are looking to do; that’s the way the functionality in the plugin is set up. If you want to suggest changing the behaviour, I suggest opening up an issue here:

    https://github.com/Automattic/WP-Job-Manager/issues/new

Also note that the functionality is coming to Resume Manager in the next version, but it will have the same limitation.

    Hi!

I agree with @shemakeswebsites! It would be more convenient to be able to register with password and e-mail address instead of username…

You can install the wp manager plugin that allows this function.

It’s free and I installed it on my dev version for now it does the work

@nghtmre , thanks for the reply but it seems quite unnecessary to install a membership plugin just for that particular issue I’m experiencing. Don’t want to bloat my page with unnecessary plugins…

Thank you so much for your reply though and have a great week! ??

    with best regards,

    bb

This plugin also allows to add fields during registration.
    After I understand your speech.

Sorry I thought I could help you in your search.

    Have a good week too

    cordially
