Set Order Status to “Payment Complete” for Successful Paypal Transaction

Great plugin! It’s simple to use and works well with our use case and website.

For our implementation, we are only using the Paypal payment option at checkout. The user creates and submits the order and is redirected to the Paypal site for payment process. In the Restaurant Menu admin, we see the order, however it’s set to “Pending” and this setting persists even after the payment is processed successfully in Paypal. The issue with this is that the customer doesn’t get the Purchase Receipt email and the admin doesn’t get the New Sale Notification email until the order is set to the status of “Payment Complete”. Currently, to send the notifications the admin has to manually set each order to the “Payment Complete” status but this is a pain for them and they’d like to have the status set automatically when the payment is successfully processed by Paypal.

We tried checking/unchecking the IPN Verification box in the Settings > Payment > Paypal standard menu but this didn’t change the status to “Payment Complete”. Please let me know if there’s a setting in your plugin or in Paypal that we need to configure to make the status change automatically. Optionally, if the IPN setting does not work, how can we make the status default to “Payment Complete” when the order is created.(regardless of the payment status) I’m ok modifying the template files if needed.
