Sorry, I missed your second question yesterday. There is some issue with making bulk edit compatible with lower than 4.0 versions of WP.
1. Almost whole bulk edit user interface created with JS
2. WP 4.0 has some significant changes to ‘media’ JS comparing with the older versions
3. In the next versions of WP there will be even more changes
So, supporting the compatibility with older versions will take more time and efforts than I would like to make, especially considering that current EML functionality isn’t complete nor perfect, and I have a lot of tasks in my TODO list. Right now I decided to concentrate on better functionality, code standards, etc, than to spend my time for backward compatibility. I believe that sooner or later everyone upgrade his/her WP, at least, because of security issues.
That said, I would like to know why you don’t wish to upgrade your WP, and is there someone else with the same issue.
