Set calls to pending instead of subscribed

    Hi.

    When someone who has unsubscribed resubscribe to my list, they are getting an error message and are not being able to sign up. Mailchimp support tells me that I need to set the calls that are being sent from the easy forms plugin to “pending” and not to “subscribed”. I need to set this to “pending” but I can not find any setting for this. Is this possible to do with this plugin? Thanks.

  • Hi @hellerobgmailcom,

    If you set the form to double opt-in, it should set the initial status to pending while awaiting the confirmation email to be clicked. That being said, I’m not sure if the scenario is different when the member previously unsubscribed. You may want to test that.

    Hi Jon.
    Thanks for replying. Your answer makes sense to me logically. However its already set to double opt in but according to mailchimp the calls are still being sent as “subscribed” thoug.

    Hi All,

    Just chiming in. I have a vague recollection of not setting submissions to “pending” because it would not send the tags over when pending was the default status.

    I’d have to dig through support tickets and commit messages to make sure this was the case, but it did ring a bell.

    Hi Tracy. Ok appreciate it. Ive googled it and think Ive seen “everywhere” inside the plugin settings but can not find this setting. Of course I may have overlooked something though.
