    Hi There,

I have two questions. First, I have the option to scroll horizontal but it does not seem to be working.

2nd, In my header row when you change the size of the web browser, the header row column text breaks at inelegant positions. I used the no-wrap css but that is not exactly what I want either. I have also tried setting my column widths in the custom css section of plugin options and that only sets the maximum width and not the minimum width. Is there a way to accomplish this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

It seems that you are affected by a bug in the Horizontal Scrolling. To work around that, please uncheck the “Use DataTables” checkbox. Instead, install the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/ and use its scroll mode to achieve Horizontal Scrolling.

As for the wrapping: I recommend to add non-breaking spaces   e.g. between the day and month, to have a better wrapping here, but to not disallow it everywhere.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Hmmm. Well, I installed the plugin and I updated the call to the table with the tag: [table id=10 responsive=scroll /]

Scroll doesn’t work at all in a desktop browser when you resize the browser window, and on the iphone browser the scroll is TERRIBLE. It is not a smooth scroll. You can’t hold your finger down and scroll at will…it nudges a little bit then you have to release and scroll a little bit more. You are forced to do this ten times just to scroll to the other end. This is kind of disappointing.

Try: the collapse version. It’s in my humble opinion, the nicest of them all :). I liked the scroll one but its bad if you have a big table.

Thanks. Tried collapse but it makes it even more confusing. Don’t get me wrong, I love TablePress, but if you are going to have a feature, it should work. Full stop.

    Hi mbinghamhawk,

I understand your frustration, but unfortunately, the large variety of themes, plugins, browsers, phones, etc. don’t always make things easy.

If possible, I’d like to see these scrolling problems myself. Could you therefore maybe set up the scroll mode again?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Hey there, sorry for the delayed response. I needed to publish the site. If you want to see the behavior, you can look at this page in Google Chrome: https://saltlakecitymarathon.com/registration/2018-fees/

    Scroll works fine in Safari.

    Hi,

it seems that this is page is using the “Horizontal Scrolling” checkbox on the table’s “Edit” screen. Can you maybe turn off the “Use DataTables” checkbox again and use the scroll mode of the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/ ?

    Regards,
    Tobias
