set a permalink to the year

  • is there a way that i can set my page permalink to a year? I am trying to create an events site where there is 1 big event each year. so i want it to be https://www.myevents.com/2015. whenever i try to set the permalink for the page, wordpress changes it to “2015-2”. Is there any way around this?
