I recently installed W3 Total Cache on my site. I love the performance … at first. I am now realizing that after “trying” to log in to my site, front end via wordpress page using wp-members shortcode, that all pages have the user signed in. To help expedite the help, I have attempted the following.

    1) “Don’t cache pages for logged in users” is checked
    2) “Cache posts page” is not checked
    3) “Don’t cache front page” is checked
    4) added “/wp-members*” (without quotes) to “Never cache the following pages:”

After all this I disabled all caches (post, page, database, object, etc.) and every page thinks no user is logged in.

Just an update. When I use wordpress’ login page (https://example.com/wp-login.php), Everything works. When I use the page set for wp-members (https://example.com/login) and its shortcode, I have problems. I am not sure how to solve this.

What I am noticing now is that only pages with wp-members shortcodes (members-area, login, register) read as logged in, but all other pages (including wp-admin) does not see the user as logged in.

After further testing/checking, I discovered that the created session only works on ssl pages (https). I need the whole site except pages with user data to be non-ssl. Any hlp will be appreciated.

Apprently using goDaddy’s fresh install of WordPress was the culprit. I overwrote the goDaddy version of wordpress with fresh files from wordpress and it worked. What a problem. Hopefully this info helps someone.
