Session Timing Out After Post Publish or Edit

    I administrate a friend’s blog and every time a post is edited or published, the screen goes blank white, the session expires, and I am unable to view his blog or the admin screens for about 15 minutes. Any ideas what could be causing this?

    I know it has a couple of validation issues, but they shouldn’t be causing this problem. thanks in advance for the help.

  • Does your friend have a lot of stuff listed in “Update Services” at Options -> Writing?

    yeah, 68 items.

    I’d wager that at least one of them isn’t responding or is timing out.

    There’s a plugin that will do those pings in the background. Forget the name; something like no ping wait or ping no wait. Might be worth a shot if you can turn it up.

    ah, thanks handy, that fixed it! on another note, the poor chap that made that plugin you mentioned lost everything due to his server’s hardware failure…yikes.

    handy, could you please take a look at another unresolved issue I have going that I’m stuck on?
