• Hello,

There were 2 days that the plugin was deactivated (automatic diactivation mentioned by you) before I noticed. In that 2 days I noticed nearly 50% session drops in google analytics. (when I see the drop I checked my plugins and then I noticed your notification to reactivate plugin). When I activated plugin, number of sessions came back to normal.

So I’m curious on how that nearly 50% sessions identified by google analytics while your plugin is deactivated. I checked the source code and could not find any duplicate analytics codes. Also It is not a exact 50% drop.

Can you help me to identify this problem? what will be the reason of having nearly 50% session while the plugin is deactivated? I know educated guess is the possible duplication of analytics code. But I could not found any duplication and the drop is not exactly 50% (but it is nearlt 50%)

    This could have multiple explanations:

    – Are you using full page caching? If so, the snippet could still be shown to your visitors on some cached pages.
    – It could have also been returning visitors, which already had the tracking cookie stored in their browser cache for your website.

    Hope this helps.
