    Hi there

I have read all of the other threads I could find regarding this problem but have not been able to resolve my problem.

I have been using Mailchimp for WordPress for many months and it has been fine. Yesterday I got an email from someone to say they were getting an error and unable to sign up for my Mailchimp list.

I ran the connectivity test curl -v https://us1.api.mailchimp.com/3.0/?apikey=test I found in another thread and it returned all sorts of information about my site.

I am with Hostgator. They tell me their cURL version is 7.19 and they can’t update it.

Can you offer any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hi,

For MailChimp for WordPress to work you will need cURL version 7.35 or higher.

cURL 7.19.7 is from November 2009, over 7 years old!

I’m afraid there is nothing we can do about this unless you move to a more up to date server/hosting provider.

By the way, when you run the curl -v, don’t forget to make sure you test on your own API server (instead of us1) and with your own API key instead of “test”.

    Hi Lap,

I’m facing to the same problem. My MailChimp for WordPress works perfectly yesterday. But today it says “NOT CONNECTED”. I changed the API key, but just received “Service Unavailable” message. I also tested the CURL, it works well.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Tienthanh,

What do you mean with “tested the CURL”? And what was the result of the test?

If you post the result of that command here I can tell you exactly what is going wrong.
