I’m planning to do a webinar for around 200 attendees. If I choose Media source/Content type as YouTube Live or YouTube (Pre-recorded video), does the streaming go directly from YouTube server to attendee? I wonder if the data traffic needs to go through the server which hosts my WorldPress website because I’m afraid my server will be the bottleneck for the streaming performance.

    Thanks for your reaching out.

Youtube will handle the streaming load but each connected attendee adds a small load to your server to handle the real-time chat feature as well as normal webinar updates. All servers are different so we can’t say for sure how many attendees your server could handle. The Pro version uses a feature called WebinarPress Connect which moves most of the processing to our servers so your website can handle a lot more attendees. With this setup, we have users running websites with 200-300 attendees online at once but that will vary depending on your own hosting and also if you have a lot of plugins on your site that might slow things down.
