    Hi,

Okay so i have used the Duplicator plugin with no issues before, exact same package but yesterday when trying to install i receive timeout errors.

I contact FastHost and they check the server logs, which show max execution times reached which are 60 seconds causing it to timeout. They won’t increase the max limit.

Not sure why it worked at 6:00pm but not at 10:00pm when trying again (was re-installing due to setting i changed caused issue and broke WP) So is there a way to get around this and get it working again, any setting i can try within duplicator or anything?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Harvey

  • Hey @harveyl12,

Here is a helpful section on the FAQs page that might provide you some workarounds:

? ? – What can I try for Timeout Issues?
    ? ? – https://snapcreek.com/duplicator/docs/faqs-tech/#faq-trouble-100-q

For quick solutions skip down to the section titled “MANUAL TIMEOUTS WORKAROUNDS”.

The reason why it may work one time and not another is because of server resource contention. If there are allot of users on the server it could be enough to slow-down your process…

Let me know if that helps~

    Hi,

I will certainly give it a try tonight and build a package with the wp-contents excluded. I have remiver my large files such as backups etc…

If I FTP the wp-contents folder after/if it installs okay will I see any issues or should it all work fine as normal?

    Thanks

    Harvey

After you run the installer it should be good! If you want to just move all the files manually sometimes that is easier for people. Then you can just install the database. Checkout this FAQ for an overview of that process…
