i’m running a daily news website, and on the hoster i have 1GB disk space. i assume that it is not enough because within 3 weeks it’s already 600Mb

how much space do i need for this type of website?

or if there is anything i can do to free some space…

    thanks!

  • How much space you need depends on way too many things to b able ot say what your site will need. Obviusly any site that grows over time will need more and more space as it goes along. The best idea is to upgrade your hosting account as it’s needed. Your hosting company will be more than happy to help you out with this.

As far as feeeing up some space… the first thing that you’d need to know is what’s using yoru space now??? Most hosting control panels have some way of displaying disk usage, so I’d start there. Keep in mind that a lot of your storage could be emails. I’ve got a few clients here that have 3GB plans that have about 250MB of space in their webiste, and over 2GB of email, so I know that it does add up very quickly.

public_html holds the biggest part….should i refer to the theme designer on how to simplify things?

or any articles about this issue?

public_html is where wordpress and all the images you use reside.
