    hi there,

I am getting 3 errors on my facebook pixel and i can not tag products on instagram because of it. It says:

Server Sending Invalid Match Key Parameters for AddToCart Event

    PROBLEM
Your server is sending an invalid ip_address, user_agent parameters value for your AddToCart event. This may be because there was an error in the parameter value.
This may cause issues with the attribution and delivery optimization of ad campaigns that are using this event.

    Solution
Check that you’re sending valid and unique values for the ip_address, user_agent parameters for your AddToCart event and that the data is normalized correctly.

I get the same errors for the 3 events:
    ViewCategory
    ViewContent

When i update my website with products and it says that the product is synced it is not working. As i mentioned above i can not tag my products on instagram.

I tried creating a new catalogue but it is not possible to add product because the pixel says “not ready”.

    Can you please help asap?

  • Hi @marketingcopenhagen,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

We’ve recently reached out to Facebook directly to try to get some clarity regarding the “Invalid Match Key” warning. While no specific resolution has been provided, we do now know this from their replies:

? this warning only occurs with server to server events (added in Facebook for WooCommerce v2.0)
? it can be the result of a platform issue – which wouldn’t be fixable from within the plugin
? Facebook will not share more specific event data for privacy reasons
??there aren’t any events in the plugin’s logs with missing user_agents or ip_addresses

Facebook has assured us that they’re looking into providing more information for this error in a future release, such as showing the affected URL and the parameter and what is wrong with it. They did also mention, however, that even with some additional details, it would not likely be able to be resolved by the plugin, as it can be at the platform level.

They weren’t able to pass along an expected date for release, though did mention that they usually see some features/improvements added after the holidays.

It seems that at this moment, we’ll need to wait for this release before looking at the Invalid Match Key parameter further. Please do let us know if you hear something different directly from Facebook!

Regarding the “pixel not ready” error, would you please tell me a little bit more about what you’ve tried to do here? I’m interested to hear if the catalog and pixel are both owned by the Business Manager you are using to connect.

    Cheers,

    Thanks,
    Marcus
