Hi, I am experiencing a problem with the bounce detection.
After going through the test, which is succesful, I click on the “Process bounce handling now” button, and I get this error:

SECURITY PROBLEM: insecure server advertised AUTH=PLAIN

I checked the settings and everething seems right, what can It be?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

  • Hi @rombo76,

Mailserver which you want to connect is not letting this plugin to connect and fetch emails.
You have to try by changing these two option ->

    set Secure connection(SSL) to Yes
    set Self-signed certificates to Yes

see if that works. Also you can try changing Connection method to pop3 and set proper port number. Let me know the result.

    Thanks

    Hi tanim71,

thanks for you help. No, I tried but:
    – If I change the Secure connection (SSL) to Yes I get an error on the test;
    – If I change the Self-signed certificates to Yes nothing changes.

I also tried with pop3, all the same. The port is 143, as stated by the provider…

    Hi @rombo76,

This is something related to Mail server provider. You can try connecting any free email service like gmail / yahoo / live / outlook to see if these are working within installation.

Also, you can provide me here about your mail service provider name / url , so I can check what kinds of security parameter they expect when connecting via imap / pop3.

Update:: if you are using any Mail software which integrated with out hosting server like iRedMail / Dovecot / roundcube please let me know.

    Thanks
