Hello! Whenever I’m trying to validate my twitter cards and after inputing the url of my post, I keep on getting an error saying:

    Server error, please try again.

I followed the tutorial accompanied by the plugin and I’m sure I did it correctly. Can someone please tell me how to resolve this? Thanks in advance ??

Hi sometimes the validator has issues. A lot of people are using it at the same time. Just try it again.

Otherwise give me a URL so I can check it myself.

Hi, thanks for your reply jmlapam.

I already had tried repeatedly day by day but it’s still the same error I’m getting during validation. In my admin’s post page, it seems fine and it’s giving me a preview of how it’ll look like. I don’t have proper posts as of now cos I’m just starting to set up my blog, could it be the reason why I can’t get it validated?
    Btw, here’s the url

Try to add the required rules in robots.txt to authorize Twitter’s bot to fetch your content and see if that works.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply jmlapam.. I just added the twitter’s in robots.txt, I tried all these 3, cos I don’t know if I’m doing it right, anyway just trying my luck hehe~~~but none of these worked.

You need to put that file at the root of your installation. I do not see it when I check your website.

I just went to my file manager, public_html and check for robots.txt file and this is what I found…

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Disallow: /wp-includes/
    Disallow: /wp-content/
    Disallow: /readme.html
    Disallow: /license.txt
    Disallow: /search/
    Disallow: /*?
    Disallow: /*.php$

    User-agent: Twitterbot
    Disallow:

Not sure if this is what you’re pointing out, but I think it is. Please enlighten me so I could learn to make it effectively. Thanks again for your time

No make sure you have this file at the roots. For now I see this :

    ######################################################## Robots.txt SEO by jhemsays.com

    #All bots
    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin
    Disallow: /wp-admin/

    Disallow: /license.txt

I dont know what’s wrong but if I try to view here, it’s there.

    It shows like this

You’re running linux which is great ^^.
But I don’t see the same so I bet there’s some cache runnning (on your webserver) and robots.txt should be excluded from it.

Oh, I’ll try to do that. Will get back again whether I fixed it or not hehe.. For now, I’d still want to say thank you for your time and reply, it’s a big help anyway. bye bye

    Hello there!

Finally, I have my twitter cards approved in no time after validating a summary below large image. Maybe the problem is with my previous host? I’ve just moved to another host and get my twitter cards validated at first try.

But I was wondering why my twitter card is only showing the summary and url? The image is there, but it only shows up upon ticking the View Summary. How can I make it show up?

Another question is, do I have to apply for different card types? Let’s say I also want to use some time the Summary card, and Photo card..?

    Thank you in advance ??

    Hi,

Glad you got it work. Sometimes it’s about server config but most of the time this is about rules in robots.txt.

This could be also the reason why you do not find your images in tweets. Twitter’s bot has to be allowed to fetch your directories especially where you upload your stuffs.

To apply for different card types you have to use the meta box it will allows you to set another card type for a particular post. Use the validator to confirm that your markup is fine and then re-submit your domain to twitter.
