server error File does not exist: [path]/feed/atom/

  • Why do my wp blogs create this error in my server logfile?

    [Tue Aug 9 19:30:46 2005] [error] [client …] File does not exist: /home/username/public_html/directoryname/feed/atom/

    I also get file does not exist in /feed/rss/.

    I’m using wp 1.5.1.3 installed using Fantastico. Is there a problem with my wp installations?

    I also get

    File does not exist: /home/username/public_html/robots.txt … what is this file?

  • The robots.txt is just a file that search bots look for when visiting your site. Do a google search on it and you can create your own. Without a link the other is harder to diagnose. What happens when you try to link to those permalinks? Are you able to see your feeds?

    Thanks! For those who want to know the resolution of the /feed/atom/ file not found problem … I had forgotten to put htaccess files with the permalink rewrite rules in some of my wp directories.
