server error after trying your directions to get rid of wp after my domain name

  • My web page is https://www.mycrafttutorials.co.uk im a complete novice / begginner I tryed your directions to get rid of the /wp in my url address now i get a server error I havnt a clue how to fix it…

    im hosting with bestspace and can just barly navigate their cpanel.
    Please can someone help?? all i want is for people to type in my web address an pop on my website.

  • Hi,

    Seems like your website is still within the wp folder.

    You will have to move the files from the wp folder up a level (to the root of the website).

    i could not figure out what to do i got server errors all the time it said i deleted a file and my website couldn’t be found. the only thing i could do was remove wordpress and re install it now my site is back to square one. and when i go look to see it in google its still says server error 500
    This is no way easy for total beginners iv had nothing but trouble no wonder so many people give up. Its an arts and crafts site I’m not selling anything its just to showcase my tutorials and maybe when I’m more confident do some craft affiliate stuff. But I cant seem to get it off the ground.
    I cant afford to pay anyone to fix it
    id be glad of any help anyone can give.
