Server Error 500

Is the 500 error on your wp-admin or just on the front end? If you can get into the admin you can change to the default theme.

Looks like you’re still working with the temp url for your site so contact your host. They might have you start over but based on the above it doesn’t look like you’re live yet, thus I assume you haven’t made any backups to restore to.

I am still working on a temp url. No I have not made any backups. I have contacted my host, waiting for a reply. Do you think I lost everything?

Probably not everything but it does sound pretty rough if you can’t get to the admin console which is not dependent upon a theme. I’m assuming you have things like your custom image files elsewhere that you’ll be able to reload and such.

I do. It’s just such a big site. I’m hoping I won’t have to start over. It’s taken me several weeks. Ugh! I’m waiting to hear from my host. I will let you know if it brings anymore questions. Thanks for your help!

Good stuff! Glad it helped. Now, start taking backups before you update things in the future! Even if you’re just working on something that will one day be live, you want to have snapshots that you can go back to should something (like a bad theme) go wrong ??
