    hi

firstly wangguard is a fantastic plugin, however recently have had this issue

A network problem or firewall is blocking all connections from your web server to WangGuard.com. WangGuard cannot work correctly until this is fixed. Try to deactivate secure connection to WangGuard API. Go to WangGuard Settings and Disable secure connection to WangGuard server using SSL / TLS. After that Save Options, and save the API Key again.

    WangGuard server Network Status
    37.59.20.168

I have checked SSL is unchecked, so that is not the issue

one problem I have in mind as you appear to use OVH servers, they are routinely blocked by our firewalls for hacking / spamming attempts, this is a daily basis with OVH

we have checked your IP in our firewall and it is not blocked, however I am wondering if you are also using another IP which may be blocked which is then stopping the said IP connecting ?

any ideas or suggestions would be great

    thanks

  • I’m also having issues connecting to the WangGuard server and have for a while. We disabled the SSL and have deleted the plugin and added again.

    What else can we do?

I think the developers have little interest in helping with this issue given they prefer to sell a pro version

the fact they are using OVH is not a good sign in my eyes

    Hi to all,

I’m, sorry for the delay. You can contact with us from the plugin (WangGuard help), normally I respond in few hours (some times in minutes).

Since WangGuard 1.6, WangGuard use a secure connection (TLS). Some servers don’t allow this protocol so you need to deactivate it.

For deactivate it, go to wp-admin -> WangGuard -> Configuration -> WangGuard Settings -> “Disable secure connection to WangGuard server”.

That have to fix the problem.

@scruffy1, WangGuard is free, At this moment no one is paying for WangGuard. I don’t come here because 98% of people are contacting with me using the Contact form build into the plugin, giving support to every one for free. And I’m not looking for pro accounts.

Why is a problem OVH? Have I to pay $3.800 month with other ISP when (after many month testing OVH), I can pay $700? Please explain me the problem with OVH. At this moments, is the best server performance I found ( including mt ).

    Thank you
