Hi! I’ve been using the plugin without issues for a while, but just this week I started getting the following error:

    Server configuration error

It appears that your server uses the cache for HTTP requests. The rules from the .htaccess file or from the Nginx configuration are not executed every time when an image is loaded, but the last redirect from cache is performed.

I contacted Cloudways, my server and hosting provider and sent the instructions to meet the requirements. They made the changes to allow the Webp redirection, but the plugin is still not working.

These are the hosting and plugin settings:

Is there anything I can do so the plugin works?

    Hi @vpedrozo,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you have encountered a problem with our plugin. Do not worry, I will try to help you.

I want to see what might have gone wrong. Could you send me a screenshot of the Help Center tab in the plugin’s settings? I will check it because in this tab I have information about the status of your website.

    Best,
    Mateusz

    Thank you @vpedrozo,

From what I can see you’re also using Cloudflare – correct?

Do you have any custom rules added in Cloudflare in the Rules -> Page Rules section of the website management panel?

    Thread Starter vpedrozo

    (@vpedrozo)

    Hi! Yes, I use Cloudflare.

I don’t have any rules set.

    I understand @vpedrozo,

After activating Development Mode in the Overview section of the Cloudflare panel, does the problem persist?

    Thread Starter vpedrozo

    (@vpedrozo)

Hi @mateuszgbiorczyk! Yes, I activated the development more, and still am getting the same notice and “serve images in next-gen formats” errors in the page speed test.

    Any other suggestions?

@vpedrozo Is the rewrites_cached error in the plugin settings gone?

    Thread Starter vpedrozo

    (@vpedrozo)

Hi! Yes, the error in the “bottom area “bulk optimization of images” section doesn’t show when developer mode is active in cloudflare.

    (@mateuszgbiorczyk)

Thank you for the confirmation @vpedrozo!

All right. Now let’s do it differently. Please disable Development Mode and please add data to the Cloudflare configuration in the plugin settings, in the CDN Settings section.

    Is the error visible then?

    (@vpedrozo)

thank you! I’m running out of time now, but I’ll try this tomorrow. I’ll let you know once I’ve tested it.

Hi! I followed the last instructions:

disable development mode in Cloudflare and added the Cloudflare token and zone keys in the CDN section of the converter for media plugin.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work. The server error and the Error codes:?rewrites_cached alerts are still happening.

    Thank you @vpedrozo,

This is very strange, it means you have some extra settings in Cloudflare that is causing this problem. Do you remember what was configured there?

    Thread Starter vpedrozo

    (@vpedrozo)

Hi! I have used this same set up of Clouflare + Cloudways+ Converter for Media for a while and never had issues until now. I didn’t manually change anything in the Cloudflare or Cloudways settings, so I’m unsure.?

I don’t have any special page rules or configuration rules in Cloudflare, and I attached the screenshots of my Cloudflare settings both in Cloudflare, wordpress and Cloudways dashboard below.

Reviewing the potential causes, I noticed that Object Cache Pro plugin was updated at the end of February. This plugin was automatically installed and required when I moved my website to Cloudways. Could that plugn be causing the issue??

    Thank you @vpedrozo,

I have the Cloudways test environment, but without the CLOUDFLARE ENTERPRISE option active. When the WEBP REDIRECTION option is disabled, the bypassing_apache error is visible in the plugin settings. After activating this option, everything works, so the plugin is compatible with Cloudways. I just checked it again just to be sure.

We need to look for something that is non-standard on your website compared to what is available on Cloudways by default.

In the Application Management panel, in the Cloudflare section, please disable the CACHING option for static content (https://i.snipboard.io/x8L50p.jpg).

We will check if this is the source of the problem.

    (@vpedrozo)

Hi! I disabled the caching for static, but still got the same errors. In general, I prefer to have that cloudflare feature enabled either way.

If I purchase the PRO, would this all be solved? I have about 5000 images on my website, what pro plan should I choose?
