    Hi there,

I’ve used Smush for some time now but only recently availed of the trail run for 7 days – I’ve smushed all the images I’ve been able to smush – some are being highlighted with the following error ‘Couldn’t process image due to bad headers. Try re-saving the image in an image editor, then upload it again.’

However my main concern is that when I run a speed test I’m faced with an issue of not serving scaled images. Am I doing something wrong?

    Looking forward to your advice,

    Edwina

  • Hi Edwina,

Have you tried reuploading the images reported as suggested in the error?

However my main concern is that when I run a speed test I’m faced with an issue of not serving scaled images. Am I doing something wrong?

Incorrectly scaled images suggest that the images loaded on the page are larger than their HTML holder, even if the image itself is optimized, size larger than the holder means that unnecessary extra data is being loaded on page.
This is something that your theme devs should look into and use properly sized thumbnails that fit that holder.

Smush Pro offers automatic resizing when CDN option is used so if you’re on a trial with us and your still having these issues after Smush CDN and auto-resize is enabled please start a ticket on our support forum since these forums are for the free version only.
