Sermon description formatting problem

  • After updating to Version 2.16.3 any formatting in the Description section is lost after the sermon is saved. What is displayed is just unformatted text. Eg. bold does not work, links do not work, etc. Any help much appreciated.

  • In our testing site, in one of the test sermons I’ve had a link and bold text in the description for some time (way before 2.16.3). I’m using 2.16.3 and I still see the correct formatted text.

    I used Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to turn all plugins except sermon manager off and switched to 2019 theme. Same Thing. Only see unformatted text on sermon. Any help will be appreciated.

    I took a look again and it looks like a bug. The theme that I use is custom that I made (created a child theme) and it works fine as I posted earlier. I switched themes and ALL themes I tried strips the format.

    @cseevinck I have a similar problem in that the “Add” screen starts with Block Editor” but if I go back in to revise, it opens as “Classic” and I have to make the change back to block each time. All formatting disappears. In addition, info entered into the Block Editor does not show up on the front end for me. I have to enter the same text into the original input block for it to show on the sermon page.
    I have not made any customizations on my site.

    @jahrat Thanks. Have you found a way to make the formatting stick?

    @cseevinck not as yet. I still have to reformat each time I revise a post. Yoast only sees my text if I use the new blocks, so glad for that. Just wish I did not have to duplicate entries.
    This forces me to try and ensure all details and images are properly entered the first time I post (not always practical).

    I am having the same issue with the links in the description not working on 2.16.3. Any update on fixing this issue? Thanks

    Edit: I contacted the developer a few weeks ago. He wanted some more info, which I did and I have yet to hear back.
