Serious Spam issues with Askimet!?

  • I’ve been using Askimet for years and haven’t had any trouble with until I started using IntenseDebate. Now when I do a google site search site:eclipsemagazine.com it’s ALL SPAM, and my Askimet seems to have stopped working – I’m not getting any Spam in my Comments, but it looks like I went from Askimet catching an Avg of 9,000 a day a few months ago to only catching 5 a day now – according to the stats.

    So I’m trying to figure what’s going on and how this Plugin works with Intense Debate?

  • from what I can see, Intense Debate is actually replacing the wordpress comment system, so Akismet isn’t in the loop anymore. Any spam that it’s catching is likely from a spammer accessing your old comment system directly.
