Serious Slider — slides are not displaying

I’ve put a slider on a static page using the Weblizar Theme.
If I use the light option on the slider, nothing displays. If I specify dark, the forward and back arrows display, with dots between them, that seem to ‘travel’ as you would expect the slides to move. I think that there are one fewer dots than the number of slides assigned to the slider
