Serious Problem: Website link not working!

  • When I go to https://putintowords.ca (without the www), I get this error message instead of my web site:

    Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home6/putintow/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php:1) in /home6/putintow/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890

    What I want to appear is my web site as it is here:

    https://www.putintowords.ca
    Do I need to move my WordPress directory into the root folder?

    Hi Esme,

    I sort of did that and it didn’t work. My wp-config.php file did not have ?> at the end, so I added it. Was that wrong? I’ll try this again but I highly doubt it will work. What about a site re-direct? https://www.putintowords.ca and putintowords.ca should be the same.

    The problem is in your theme’s functions.php file – not in your wp-config.php file..

    So what am I supposed to do to the functions.php file exactly?

    The only way to get back your website is to log in using ftp and delete functions.php file from twentyten theme and replace with a copy from your wordpress download if you have one or download it.

    Reloaded the functions.php file. Now I get this for both URLs:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_action() in /home6/putintow/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 51

    Looks like you have re upload the whole twenty ten theme from your wordpress copy.

    You are not suppose to make any changes default twenty ten theme always create a child theme so that you come back to a working theme if you come across any problems.
