• There is no mod_rewrite on, but all of a sudden ?pade_id= won’t show the page. It will come up, but the text won’t be there, even though the text is still in wordpress. This problem just started happening since I was messing with permalinks, but I turned off modrewrite and put everything how it used to be. What do I do?

those are posts, not pages. I am talking about the pages (like about the page) where it uses ?page_id=

Do the pages appears when you use the WordPress Default Theme?

    Thread Starter trojanfan

    (@trojanfan)

No, it says they don’t exist. But they used to show up fine. I’m not sure whether messing with permalinks or installing a plugin for having invisible categories did it. Any ideas?

Nobody has ever seen this before? I removed all the permalinks and disabled the rewrite engine and still not working. ??

Check with your host to see if they “upgraded” something…. if you have done nothing, it about has to be something server-side.

Thing is, the page_id thing worked all the way until yesterday. Then I messed up some permalinks stuff and added in a plugin for invisible categories (don’t think that would have anything to do with page_id being messed though). argh, makes no sense at all

Alright guys, I just used a new permalink and it looks like it will work. I decided to go with %postid%. Now I have to go through and update all my links

What the…Go to the site please. Click on a page like about the bum. The permalink structure for the pages is still the pagename? This is so weird…

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

“About the Bum” is linked to as https://madbum.com/?page_id=12. Honestly, it looks like you’re just missing a few essential elements in your page template. When you activated the Default Template and went to “About the Bum”, did you see a WP page with no content (as it is now), or did you see the correct page?

    Thread Starter trojanfan

    (@trojanfan)

No, I mean, the working page is https://madbum.com/about-me

And yes, I saw a page with no content, similar to the one where the link you posted is. It’s weird, the page_id thing used to work fine but it doesn’t work anymore.

    (@macmanx)

I’m sorry, but why not use https://madbum.com/about-me ? It works, and it looks a whole lot better then https://madbum.com/?page_id=12 .

Yes, it works now, but before the name thing wasn’t working for certain pages which is why I wanted to switch back
