• Hi there everyone,

    so i have a major issue that’s stumped me…
    The problem

Sidebar with widgets and admin nav panel are not visible at https://www.bquinney.co.uk/blog. When a singular post is clicked they are both visible again. The weird thing is offline while running my wordpress in xamp, everything displays as it should. Also, if i add widgets to a different section, they display on the home page but not on singular posts.

    I have tried

    – Reinstalling wordpress
    – Installing new and different themes
    – reinstalling my theme (thematic)
    – disabling plugins

    Yet the problem persists ??

Can anyone help? Its greatly appreciated.

    Ben Quinney

  • Hi Ben,

Try validating the html for your blog page somewhere like https://validator.w3.org . There are a bunch of errors that can be contributors to this but I see an iframe tag on line 211 that is missing a trailing quote for the height attribute. That is what is breaking the page as far as I can tell.

    Thanks for the reply Gene

It seems that the videos were causing the erros, im not sure why? I saved the post to draft and then republished and now everything works perfectly fine.

    Cheers dude

Right on. I’m glad that helped. Mark the topic resolved if you feel it is.

I see other issues like your logo div is called from within the <head> tag. That’s not good.

It’s probably because your child theme is hooking in to wp_head when it should be hooking into Thematic action hook like: thematic_before .

Also I notice that you’re using an older version of Thematic than the current release. It’d probably be best to upgrade Thematic. If you run into child theme compatibility problems on the upgrade loo here: ThematicTheme.com/ for more info on the changes and possible upgrade issues
