    No, it can’t. Serialized data is not compatible with the search.

    Can you suggest a method of adding custom fields that would create non-serialized data, i.e that plays nice with plugins like your own? Ideally aimed at someone like myself with moderate but not expert PHP skills…

    I think you should read this tutorial. It gone through all the necessary things that you should know to create the meta field.
    But, remember don’t create Checkbox and Repeatable meta field if you wish to work with my plugin.
