    Hi,

There is a regression that was introduced in 1.1.2 version of Sequential theme. genericons folders have been moved into a new genericons child folder. But the enqueue of the font did not update the new path.

So I suggest as a patch to remove the second genericons subfolder that is useless.

    Thank you

  • Thanks for the heads-up – I’ll let our developer know and we’ll keep you posted here.

Thank you for reporting this issue!

We fixed the path to the Genericons CSS, and submitted an update for the theme. It should be available soon.

By default, Genericons includes the extra child folder. It was originally removed when the font was added to Sequential, but re-added when we updated Genericons to the latest version.

We opted to keep the extra folder so the file structure in Sequential matches what’s downloaded from Genericons. That way, when there are future updates to Genericons, they can be dropped in to the theme without needing modifications.

Just let us know if you have any questions or spot any further problems. Thank you!

    Hello,

Nice, thanks for the fix, you’re welcome ??

Hi, is this issue fixed yet?

I have an issue on a WP site using Sequential (with a child theme) whereby the social icons are reduced to “squares”.

It’s on the contact page of my site here.

Or is this a separate issue?

    Thank you!

Hi madebygift – Sequential doesn’t come with a social links menu, could you tell me what method you’re using to generate one in your sidebar?

Ah, I think you’re using a custom menu, is that right? It looks like this file is missing:

    https://newcastlecounselling.co.uk/wp-content/themes/sequential/genericons/genericons.css

Sorry about that! It looks like the fix made earlier was only a partial one. The file path was changed, but the Genericons files themeselves are in the wrong place. We’ll get this fixed up in the next version, but in the meantime, if you’re comfortable with FTP, you could move all the files in this folder:

    /sequential/genericons/genericons

up one level into this folder:

    /sequential/genericons/

Another temporary workaround could be to activate the Jetpack plugin, because Genericons are bundled with it as well.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Kathryn,

That has worked! Thank you so much for finding an answer for me. Have a super day!

    Darren.

My pleasure and again, sorry about the glitch.

We’ll keep this thread updated once it’s been fixed in the next version of Sequential.

Darren, the Genericons issue should be fixed in version 1.1.7 of Sequential, which just went live. There’d been a hiccup in making it live last week, sorry about that! This version should include the fix, but just let me know if you still see any issues with it.
