Hi! I have realized that my serps have been losing the separator + title in the las 2/3 weeks. After some research, I saw that it occurs in Firefox and Chrome (only desktop). Yoast introduces the title with the separator code but it is like Google doesn′t render it in the SERPs.

For example, for this page https://vivraestudio.com/agencia-de-diseno-web/, the title is:

    <title>Agencia de Dise?o Web • Vivra Estudio</title>
    • It seems ok in the browser tab.
    • It seems ok when I check the meta in Google Search console
    • It seems ok in mobile and Edge.

But the Separator + Title is lost in serps Chrome and Firefox. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello @vivraestudio,

Thanks for reaching out about your SEO title in SERPs. Since the SEO title you entered in the Yoast SEO is shown in the page source, the issue is not due to our plugin or your page’s settings.

Google decides what your title saysWhile Google typically uses the title from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. The title you enter in our snippet preview are suggestions for Google. Google’s goal is to represent best and describe each result. Their algorithm has concluded that there is a better version to index. We have additional information on this topic: Google shows the wrong title for my site.

Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display your preferred title.

Thanks for your reply. I read the articles you recommend in the past and I know how Google works regarding SERPs but in this case I don′t think it′s related with the title overwritting by Google. All of the items (500/500) have been overwritten and in all cases the separator + sitename has been removed but the page title is intact. This is not the behavior Google describes about SERPs.

In fact, in other 2 websites with same theme + Yoast is happening as well.

    Regards.
