    Hi.
I have been successfully using a multi-site installation of WP 3.5.1 to run to run 4 different websites. I have one website on the alphaoutdoors.co.nz primary domain, plus three more websites as sub-domains of this primary domain e.g. flymicro.alphaoutdoors.co.nz. I enjoy using WP. My thanks to all those people who developed it.

I have now purchased a second primary domain skyfreedom.co.nz and want to set up WP so I can run a separate multi-site.

After reading many support topics and WP tutorials, I am confused as to how to set this up.
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers

  • There are many steps, the first is to point that new domain’s DNS A records over to the IP address of your server.

Second would be to configure your web server to accept connections from that domain name and route them to your WP installation.

Third would be to get WordPress configured to accept that domain and route it to the correct site. So that last part is the tricky bit I’m guessing. There is a premium plugin that might make it easier on you if you can spring for it: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/multi-domains/

Question…is skyfreedom.co.nz going to be an entire new multisite website and not linked to flymicro.alphaoutdoors.co.nz? If yes, then do the same steps you took in setting up flymicro.
