Separate Twenty Twelve Site Content into 3 parts

    I want to separate my header, my main site content and my footer into three separate parts. My website is https://yoadrea.com

    I want the header in its own box, the content in its own box and the footer in its own box. The closest I was able to get was to make the site content container shorter so there wasn’t any white shading around the footer. (I don’t understand how that happened when it was the header.php file that I altered…) It’s been driving me crazy for days.

    My theme is basically Twenty Twelve, but changed it to my own theme (not a child theme).
