    Hello,

I have encountered this problem on several sites. Many times we use custom post types such as Projects. We want to index the projects but we don’t want to index the projects archive (/projects/).

This is something we can do in Yoast but not in Rank Math. This also results in it appearing in the projects sitemap as well.

A setting would be needed to be able to customize the meta robots in the custom post types archives.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello @michenflu,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please follow this screencast to find the options related to noindexing CPTs or their archives:
    https://i.rankmath.com/4sfmAs

Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. We give you an option to choose between the two during the setup wizard and you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode.

You can switch to the Advanced Mode from the top-right corner at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

thank you very much for your reply.

It’s weird because I don’t see the CPT archive tabs in “titles & meta”: https://ibb.co/BTqwK3H

So I don’t have any way to mark noindex the /project/ archives nor remove it from the sitemap. I don’t know if it’s an issue on my installation.

    Thank you.

    Hello @michenflu

Can you please tell us how are you adding those CPTs or which plugin/theme is adding them?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hello,

I’ve looked into it and the CPT we have is a modification of the Projects CPT that comes with the Divi theme.

I managed to fix the problem with a “has archive => false”: https://ibb.co/m0mLLbf

I’m betting that another one of the commented lines is the one that prevents it from showing up in the Rank Math settings.

Anyway, issue solved. Thanks a lot for the help.
