    Dear support,

since a week we receive SEPA payments from customers that are trying to pay with iDeal

I never activated SEPA payments and stripe support confirmed that the request is coming from WooCommerce.

I don’t see a Direct SEPA payment method at checkout, I’m quite confused.

I don’t understand how they’re using that method, and it takes days to transfer the money so I’m not sure that these orders will be actually paid.

    How can we troubleshoot this?

    Hello there,

I am sorry this flow feels confusing. When a customer pays using iDEAL and saves it for future payments, it is stored as a SEPA payment. Then, when they use it to do complete another order, it is displayed as SEPA. You can read more about this behavior on this Stripe page. And you can read more about the SEPA debit behavior here. On this page you can see:

SEPA Direct Debit?is a?delayed notification payment method, which means that funds are not immediately available after payment. A payment typically takes?5 business days?to arrive in your account.

    Hello @wesleyjrosa ,

How can we disable this behavior?
It never happened before Jan 16th on our site, and as a iDeal user I never saw the option to save for future payments in any website.

iDeal has always been an instant, one-time authorization – not sure where this new behavior came from.

    Thanks

@wesleyjrosa, as I am from Belgium, we do not use Ideal that much, but the Bancontact method. Should/could this display the same behavior?

@dabesa it is not possible to change this behavior as of now. The only way to avoid this now is reverting the extension version to the previous one (9.0.0). But that’s not recommended.

@wesleyjrosa as a merchant, we can’t work with a payment method that takes 2 weeks to transfer money.

SEPA debit is great for subscriptions, but not for one-time orders. Not even if they are returning customers.

The order stays on-hold until is paid, how can we tell the customer to wait 1-2 weeks before we process the order?

And I haven’t seen this behavior in any other webshop. iDeal is always a one-time, instant transition.

Please review this plugin change, can’t be good.

    Hi @dabesa ,

We took your comment into consideration and will soon add a setting to disable this behavior. It will be probably available on the next version (9.2.0).

    Hello?@dabesa,

I don’t have an exact release date for version 9.2.0 yet, but I can confirm that the test version is already available. You can check it out here: 9.2.0 Test Version, which means the final version will be released soon.

I appreciate your patience. Thank you.
