Hello, is it the plugin or is it mollie or is it just not possible?

We have recurring payments, and want to avoid any other payments options that collect transaction cost in % as these are always to high in our case.

    So we only accept

    • ideal (netherlands – fixed transaction price);
    • bancontact (belgium – fixed transactrion price) and
    • SEPA DIRECT for recurring payments also with a fixed transaction price.

Mollie has accepted our SEPA direct request. So thats all good.

    QUESTION 1.

If clients signup from Belgium or Netherlands we provide the first payment via Bancontact or Ideal. I assume the recurring fees will be done by SEPA DIRECT automatically?

    QUESTION 2.

But for clients outside BE/NL we only want to provide the SEPA direct option, is this possible?

    QUESTION 3.

We have B2C and B2B clients that are going to signup. Do we need to do something special for this in your plugin? As i’m reading you have SEPA Dirct b2c and a B2B version. Only at mollie there is one general to activate.

    QUESTION 4.

Follow up on question 2. If we do accept Creditcards for the first payment. We read that this can be 0 euro https://help.mollie.com/hc/nl/articles/214072489-Hoe-gebruik-ik-Mollie-Recurring- however it’s not clear if the recurring fee will be done via SEPA direct or still with CC via your plugin?

Sorry for all those questions, but it’s the first time i’m setting up SEPA direct payments for a project of mine.

    QUESTION 1.

If clients signup from Belgium or Netherlands we provide the first payment via Bancontact or Ideal. I assume the recurring fees will be done by SEPA DIRECT automatically?

Yes, with a first iDEAL or Bancontact payment, a mandate is created so that recurring payments can be debited via SEPA direct debit.

    QUESTION 2.

But for clients?outside?BE/NL we only want to provide the SEPA direct option, is this possible?
    – The required mandate is this done within your plugin? Or do i need to setup something in Gravityforms? because thats not clear to me.
    https://docs.mollie.com/reference/v2/mandates-api/create-mandate

Yes, this is possible, but you must add a consumer name and IBAN field to the Gravity Forms form. The values that a visitor enters here are used to create a mandate. Please note that this can be error-prone, a customer can also enter incorrect information. And don’t forget to map these fields on the Pronamic Pay feed “Fields” tab:

    QUESTION 3.

We have B2C and B2B clients that are going to signup. Do we need to do something special for this in your plugin? As i’m reading you have SEPA Dirct b2c and a B2B version. Only at mollie there is one general to activate.

As far as I know, Mollie only works with the SEPA B2C version, but this of course also works for companies. Please note the following: When your customer pays with SEPA Direct Debit, they have up to 8 weeks from the purchase date to request a chargeback and reverse the payment. This may work differently with SEPA B2B direct debits, but Mollie does not use this as far as I know.

If the first payment is made via credit card, the recurring payments will also be debited from the same credit card. In this case, there is no IBAN known for a SEPA direct debit.

    Hi Remco,

Thank you for all the kind awnsers. And to share this plugin with the world.

A small QUESTION 4. follow up.

I have the IBAN field and the bank account name field added too. And with an other plugin the IBAN is checked if its a valid one. However when i do a test with the test api. Nothing happens while i enter my personal info in.

Hi Remco indeed, sorry for that. I’m testing. The problem is that mollie support is giving me all week long wrong information. Things that could not work, do work and visa versa.

They claim now that direct sepa is not possible, but i think the support is not that technical. I will continue in the other form topic for this.
