The biggest issue with this topic is that you remove part of what WordPress uses to know what to query for. It’s also been my experience that it’s not as straightforward as it could be from a user point of view.

I do know that there is https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/203951/remove-slug-from-custom-post-type-post-urls which talks about the topic and has some various possible solutions.

I think this answer specifically is the most straightforward https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/a/204210/1006

We don’t have this type of customization built in to CPTUI itself, so it will have to be a custom solution being handled.

FWIW, the docs page you linked to at the start was for renaming slugs used for your post types or taxonomies, not removing them from URLs.

    Thanks again Michael

Just to double check, is the command case sensitive?

The post type slug is “services” lower case and the Singular and Plural label is “Services”?

Yes, I believe so. The very first field that you fill in with CPTUI, and gets forced to lowercase etc, that’s the slug that you want to use.

    Thanks Michael

If I have any further questions, would wordpress.stackexchange be the best place to go?

That’d definitely be one place. I won’t claim it as the only place.
